Sit With Me is an original 7 layer reduction & multi-block wood engraving printed from lemonwood blocks. The print was inspired by a poem I wrote of the same name. The poem speaks of the want to avoid the anxiety and then the realisation that after acknowledging the anxious thoughts and approaching situations with self compassion they're likely to quieten.
Poem -
Sit With Me
“Will you sit with me?”
Asked anxiety.
Unable to avoid her -
Her shadow cast so far
- I sat.
A hurried voice of despair spilled out.
“I hear you,” I said.
“It must feel heavy,
To carry only fear and dread.”
I gave her cold hand a reassuring squeeze.
And then I walked away.
A pause.
I turned expectantly.
She hadn’t followed me though,
But had laid down for a rest.
It must be hard work having all those thoughts,
I thought.
The letterpress poem was printed by Princetown Press. The poem is printed in blue ink on Somerset paper 250gsm. The poem does not come mounted.

The print is made using Cranfield Safewash relief inks. It comes in a white acid free double mount.
Each print is signed, dated, titled and editioned in pencil on the front. It also comes with a certificate of authenticity.
This print comes wrapped in a paper print sleeve. If you prefer your print to arrive in a plastic print sleeve just leave a message stating that at checkout.
